How to submit

We like to keep things simple. We don’t require pieces to be organized by a particular theme. We do ask that, before submitting, you are familiar with what we publish. thumb thru a past issue, cruise thru our ig, check out some previous contributors. We’re a food publication, but don’t let that put a ceiling on what you submit.

Pieces should, however, follow these basic guidelines:

Written— 1,000 words or less

Art— 7x7 or less. Please send a high quality image. 

Illustrations— Send us an email! 

Anything else— Just send it!

with subject line: db v4 (piece name, last name)

*rolling submissions means submit whenever ya want! we will, however, not be getting back to each submission in a timely way. This gives us the freedom to finalize vol 3 while also giving you the cushion to submit when you’re comfortable.

As a publication, we like to work with both new and established writers. Never published before? That’s OKAY! Submissions are open to all and we are always willing to discuss pieces prior to submitting.  

DINNER BELL IS  A DIY PUBLICATION CREATED AND FUNDED BY THE COLLABORATORS. WE DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE FUNDS TO PAY ACCEPTED SUBMISSIONS BUT BELIEVE STRONGLY IN PAYING ARTISTS FOR THEIR LABOR AND HOPE TO SECURE GRANT FUNDING FOR FUTURE ISSUES.
